HABBOT, AUTUMN WINTER

I’m a sucker for spots so I’m not ashamed to say there was a small pointing and shrieking moment when I spied these new black and white, pony hair beauties in the Habbot boutique window.

Habbot’s autumn winter collection, ‘The Marvellous,’ takes inspiration from Roald Dahl’s children’s classics, with tasselled loafers, lace-up flats and low-heel boots taking their names from various Dahl characters (how sweet!)

Topping my wish list is the polka dot “Boy” brogue, with slimline silhouette and baby-heel, it's comfort and chic in one spotty package.

LIVIA ARENA, AUTUMN WINTER

There’s no better way to beat the heat(wave) than day-dreaming about the autumn winter collections and the carefully curated range of not so basic basics from eponymous Melbourne label Livia Arena is helping me keep my cool. 

The new season cocoon sweaters, dressing gown coats and calf grazing frocks have all been given the Rubin’s vase treatment, with necklines and hemlines subtly tailored to explore the optical illusions created by negative space.

Livia’s perfect winter palette of neutral blacks, soft greys and vivid cerise was inspired by surrealist photographer Richard Mosse and the shocking colouration of his infrared work (I highly recommend aquatinting yourself with Mosse’s work here).
